Why profound change requires profound connection to humanity

You can feel it, cant you?

We are in a moment of profound change.

A moment that will have more upheaval and rapid change than the human race has ever experienced before.

And the very meaning of what it is to be human will be challenged.

What makes us different than machines?

What makes us more than data, information, regurgitated thought?

Can a machine feel?

Does a machine have intuition?

How does AI have power? Can it wield power?

When the very idea of what a ´natural´ human is changing right before our eyes, what keeps us anchored together?

Why are we all dreaming of retreating to the land to build intentional community?

Do machines dream?

Do they feel aroused?

Do they seek each other out for moments of vulnerability and connection?

Being human is being erotic. Connected. Interwoven. Vulnerable.

Community is human. Feeling is human. Deeply craving touch and intimacy is human.

Desperately wanting and feeling soothed by nature is human. Staring into an animal´s eyes and feeling their aliveness is human.

Being nurtured by the sun, the plants, the trees, the birds and the cacophony of life around us is human.

And we need to allow ourselves to feel this. To remember this. To embrace it, to embrace each other.

We cannot listen to the bullshit that tells us to turn off our empathy. That distances us from our own desire. That tells us that embodiment, our bodies, our sexual selves are dangerous.

We need to tap into the deep connection we have with everything around us that is alive. Because that connection is the only thing that is going to remind us that we are human and that humanity and vulnerability and desire and intimacy and connection are necessary and powerful.

Our love for each other, for the planet, for nature and animals and the cycle of life are what makes us who we are.

And if we allow ourselves to tap into our animal nature, allow ourselves to feel into the fabric of life, allow ourselves to feel into our deepest erotic desires, we can use that feeling as a powerful force to reckon with, survive and defeat the challenges that are coming.
